EDIT: morning bump for japanese ;)
Where do you guys live? What do you drive? Just curious...
As a side note, I might sell my beloved Corvette today... I will miss it... deeply... But that also means I will be in Japan sooner than expected if I can do so... I wish I could afford bringing it with me right now :(
Here is one of the numerous car I want to replace it with when I'm there :)

They all live in tube hotels and drive F&F background cars.
Trust me.

I have heard that older cars can be a nightmare to keep compliant with their laws. When I was looking for an engine for my Subaru, I found this guy who imports the engines. He said after about 50K miles, they either trade them or change engines. Don't know if that is true or not. Let's ask Gimi.

No worries, they are actually a lot more compliant with older cars than with cars under 10 years old...
to quote Wiki:
"Cars under 10 years old may emit not more than 1% carbon monoxide , and not more than 300ppm unburned hydrocarbons . Cars older than 10 years may emit up to 4.5% carbon monoxide and up to 1200ppm unburned hydrocarbons."
It's just that for japanese, a car with over 90000km is useless as they do not like "old" cars... For them, everything is in the mileage. You cannot import a car with 140000km and hope to sell it for good money, pretexting it's in very good mechanical/cosmetical shape. It's entirely based on the mileage. Which is why you, as a foreigner, can easily get a R32 GTR with 120.000 km for 6000$ there... Because you don't care about what a stupid odometer says :)

Interesting. Is it hard to find a LHD?

No, very easy, they have tons of imported cars everywhere in Japan... But why getting a LHD car in the country of well... JDMs :)

Cause I would be driving it here in the states. But come to think about it, a RHD would mean increased safety in a short overlap accident.

I also want a 240z.

RHD in the US makes passing people on two lane roads a major PITA.

I'm desperately trying to get on contact with the guy who owns that 240. I need suspension on mine and I want to see what he's using. That picture just reminded me haha
